This move aims to protect sensitive information shared in meetings. If someone tries to take a screenshot, the meeting window will turn black, preventing unauthorized captures. Additionally, participants using unsupported platforms will be placed in audio-only mode to ensure security.
While this feature enhances privacy, Microsoft acknowledges that physical methods, like taking a photo of the screen with another device, could still bypass the block.
Still it is unclear if this privacy feature will be enabled by default or if meeting hosts will have to manually turn this setting on.
Alongside this update, Microsoft is also rolling out new town hall privileges for Teams Rooms, interactive AI-powered BizChat agents, and a new Copilot feature to generate audio summaries of transcribed meetings.
With over 320 million monthly active users, Microsoft Teams continuously improving itself so that businesses can collaborate securely in an increasingly digital world.
