Microsoft is retiring Bing Search APIs—What It Means for You!

Big changes are coming to Microsoft’s Bing for Developers! The tech giant has officially announced that Bing Search and Bing Custom Search APIs will be retired on August 11, 2025. This means that after this date, new deployments won’t be available, and existing resources will be disabled.

For years, developers and businesses have relied on Bing’s search APIs to integrate web search capabilities into their apps and services.

But now, Microsoft is changing Bing Search API, and offering its Azure AI Agent Service, which is a new way to integrate search into AI applications.

So, what does this mean for users

If you’re currently using Bing Search APIs, it’s time to start planning your transition. Microsoft recommends exploring its Grounding with Bing Search feature within Azure AI Agent Service, which provides real-time web data for AI-powered applications.

However, this shift comes with new costs and compliance considerations, so developers will need to carefully choose their options.

Microsoft has provided guidance on identifying affected resources in the Azure portal and encourages users to reach out to Bing API’s Search Partner Support for assistance.
